Two Care Paths, One Trusted Practice

Whatever Brought You In, You're in the Right Place.

Medical dermatology and cosmetic dermatology are two very different visits — so we built two clear paths, not one confusing menu.

Skin Cancer Screening

Patient Stories

Real Patients, Both Paths

My annual skin check found a spot my primary doctor never would have flagged. Dr. Whitfield biopsied it same-day and it turned out to be caught early. I recommend the yearly screening to everyone now.

Karen T.Skin cancer screening patient

I was nervous walking into a medical dermatology office for Botox, worried it would feel clinical and cold. It didn't — the same team that does skin checks also does my injectables, and they know my whole skin history.

Alyssa R.Botox & filler patient, 2 years

My son's eczema had been unmanaged for years. Dr. Whitfield actually explained the why behind the treatment plan instead of just handing us a prescription. Huge difference in three months.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral for a skin cancer screening?

No referral needed — you can book an annual skin check directly with us. Most PPO plans cover a yearly screening as preventive care; we verify your benefits before your visit.

What's the difference between Botox and filler?

Botox relaxes the muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles (forehead lines, crow's feet). Filler adds volume to areas that have lost it (cheeks, nasolabial folds, lips). Many patients use both — we'll recommend the right combination at your consultation.

Do you accept insurance for cosmetic procedures?

Cosmetic treatments like Botox, filler, and laser are self-pay, since insurance doesn't cover elective aesthetic care. Medical dermatology visits — skin checks, biopsies, acne, and eczema treatment — are billed to your insurance like any other doctor's visit.

How often should I get a skin check?

The American Academy of Dermatology recommends an annual full-body exam for most adults, and more frequently if you have a personal or family history of skin cancer, many moles, or significant sun exposure. We'll set the right interval for you at your first visit.
